Job description:
Expert Java Software Development Engineer with experience building test infrastructure in highly available global web environments. Responsible for implementing the automated test strategy, taking ownership of all facets.  
 
Global development team that is recognized for its innovation and consistent delivery. Work with the development teams and functional experts to define and implement a robust test automation environment for critical platforms.
 
The team operates globally and so it is critical that the candidate is able to communicate and work effectively as part of a distributed team.
 
Clear verbal and written communication skills will be crucial since the candidate must be able to influence and gain consensus with the global technology team.
 
Knowledge of Investment Research and Finance are not essential, but experience in any of these areas may provide a candidate with some advantage.

Skills/Knowledge:        Commercial Experience, Java, Software Design Development and Testing, Automated Development Build Environment, Agile
 
Experience/ Technical Skills Requirements:
  • A minimum of 5 years commercial experience
  • Strong software design, development and test experience
  • Strong experience writing Java code
  • Familiarity with automated development build environment (e.g. Hudson, Jenkins Linux, Maven, SVN, Github, Tomcat)
  • Experience working in agile teams implementing behavioural driven development & automated testing
  • Experience of applying agile software development methodologies to deliver robust, well tested an enterprise-class solutions.
Preferred Qualifications: 
  • Experience with test case automation using Cucumber test automation tool and Gherkin scripting language highly desirable
  • Experience with open source testing frameworks, including JMeter, Selenium desirable
