POSITION SUMMARY:
  • This position is responsible for coding, modifying, debugging, and documenting software applications that best support business requirements. Modify moderately complex applications programs from detailed specifications.
 
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
 
  • Develop and maintain GOSU language application code within Guidewire Policy Center, Billing Center and/or Claim Center
  • Model ethical behavior and execute job responsibilities in accordance with Citizens core values, ethics, and information protection policies
  • Plan, design, develop, modify, debug and evaluate moderately complex software for functional areas.
  • Analyze existing software or work to formulate logic for moderately complex new systems and devise moderately complex algorithms.
  • Design and maintain application code within the Enterprise Portal using Java
  • Design and develop themes to be used with Enterprise Portal utilizing HTML4, HTML5, CSS2, CSS3 and JavaScript
  • Develop portlets using Plugins SDK, APIs, XML and Java specific web services, including but not limited to JSR 168, JSR 286 and WSRP
  • Deploy plugins including portlets, themes, layout templates, webs and hooks
  • Assist with administration of Liferay application servers
 
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
  • Knowledge and demonstrated ability with Java or GOSU programming
  • Knowledge of secure software development.
  • Intermediate skills associated with the design, development, modification and deployment of software, including object-oriented programming concepts.
  • Knowledge and demonstrated ability with Java programming, developing portlets and integration components for a Portal, Portal standards, SQL and web server administration
  • Knowledge and proven experience in Liferay Portal development
  • Knowledge of Apache, Tomcat, and Liferay application server configurations and clustered deployments
 
 
 
 
 
REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science/ Information Technology or related field OR 4 years of relevant experience OR a combination of college education and relevant work experience equivalent to 4 years.
AND
  • Typically 2 - 3 years of development experience.
 
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Experience working in an Agile development environment
  • 2or more years of web application development experience
  • 2 or more years of Portal development experience
  • Experience implementing a Liferay Portal
  • Experience with Alfresco content management system, specifically paired with Liferay Portal
  • Experience developing and maintaining GOSU programs for configuring Gudiewire Policy center, Billing center, or Claim center applications
  • Experience developing and maintaining GOSU programs for integrating with Guidewire applications
  • Guidewire functional or technical certification
  • Experience working with Rally in Agile development teams
