Sr. Engineer – Call Center Telephony

Voice, broadband, satellite video, wireless Internet data access, data security solutions, bundled offerings, specialized bundles for small businesses and home offices, and advanced business communications for medium and large businesses. 
VoIP Engineering evaluates the existing network architecture, evaluates new technologies (in an effort with other organizations) revolving around VoIP solutions respective to Corp Telecom and Call Centers, institutes standard configurations/processes, and acts as tier 2 & 3 support to the NOC and Call Centers organization for VoIP related issues.
 
Responsibilities
  • 5-7 years of experience
  • Tier 2 support for Corporate Call Center Avaya and VoIP related issues.
  • Product testing, design and evaluation.
  • Work with planning organizations.
  • Install, configure and maintain new equipment and software for Corporate Telecom: Avaya gateways and Applications, Session Border Controllers and other elements in support of the Call Centers and Corporate Telecom.
  • Call Center and Corporate Telecom Capacity planning 
  • Keep network drawings and documentation up to date.
  • Provide training to other departments.
  • On-Call is required
  • Strong knowledge of Networking, Switches, Routers, LAN, WAN, TCP/IP and QoS
  • Strong knowledge of TDM and call routing
  • Strong Knowledge of VoIP(SIP, RTP, H.248, and other related protocols)
  • Extensive hands-on experience with Avaya, Mitel, Cisco, ACME, and VoIP related      equipment.
  • Extensive network troubleshooting experience.
  • Able to work with other people.
  • Able to work independently without supervision.
  • Ability to manage projects
  • Strong organization and network planning.
  • Ability to work extra hours and work on an on-call rotation.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Working knowledge of maintenance, monitoring protocols and software.
  • Travel required as necessary.
  • Professional or Vendor certifications are a plus.
  • This Job is able to make all decisions based on Network troubleshooting and  product related testing and evaluation.  This can change based on manager discretion and personal abilities.
  • The role of this position requires the ability to work with the Call Center and Internal groups on new projects and initiatives as it relates to VoIP technologies. Any operational or capital expenditure needs to be approved by management.
