POSITION SUMMARY: 
Design, code, test, debug, and document software applications. Devise or modify procedures to solve complex problems considering computer equipment capacity and limitations, operating time, and desired results.
 
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: 
·         Develop and maintain Alfresco application solutions while providing expertise in software development lifecycle                       phases from concept and design to testing.
·         Plan, design, develop, modify, debug and evaluate complex software for functional areas.
·         Analyze existing software or work to formulate logic for new complex systems and devises complex algorithms.
·         Perform complex data analysis and test/debug complex software.
·         Analyze the design and use of complex data sources.
·         Apply moderately complex programming security practices.
·         Develop and execute moderately complex test plans
·         Develop conversion and system implementation plans.
·         Train users in conversion and implementation of system.
·         Perform complex data modeling, performance and integration testing and builds interfaces for a variety of internal and             external constituents.
·         Monitor and employ source code control techniques and configuration management.
·         Gather, analyze, prepare and summarize recommendations for approval of system and programming documentation.
·         Recommend and implement changes in development, maintenance and system standards.
·         Negotiate with stakeholders on the creation of software specifications.
 
 
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
·         Advanced knowledge of Java based multi tiered application architecture and development.  Core Java, J2EE (JSP,                 Servlets,), Spring Web, Spring MVC, Spring Webservices (SOAP/REST)
·         5 or more years of enterprise java application development experience
·         2 or more years of experience with Alfresco Content Management (Alfresco/Share Development and Integration)
·         Experience with Tomcat/JBoss/Websphere
·         Experience with Service Oriented Architectures (SOA)
·         Previous experience with a legacy conversion to Alfresco a plus
·         Knowledge of secure software development.
·         Advanced skills associated with software design, modification, implementation and deployment, including object-                     oriented programming concepts.
·         Demonstrated ability to develop conversion and system implementation plans.
·         Demonstrated ability to understand functional needs and how systems can support those needs.
·         Must be able to interface with management on a regular basis.
·         Demonstrated ability to create software specifications.
·         Demonstrated ability to contribute technical narrative to grant proposals.
·         Thorough experience with identification and use of code libraries and open-source forums.
·         Demonstrated software repository skills.
·         Experience with planning for deployment and creation of feedback mechanisms.
·         Demonstrated testing and test planning skills.
·         Thorough experience with common programming tools.
 
 
REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
·         Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science/ Information Technology or related field OR 4 years of relevant experience
·         Typically 5 - 7 years of development experience.
 
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
·         Experience working in an Agile development environment
·         Experience with Liferay or Thunderhead
·         Knowledge of enterprise content management taxonomy, key concepts, strategies, technologies, standards and best               practices
·         6 or more years of development experience.
·         Advanced knowledge of secure software development.
·         Demonstrated broad problem solving skills.
·         Knowledge or experience in Property & Casualty Insurance.
