ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS 
Interprets enterprise solution architecture and requirements documents through building application architecture and designs in UML. 
  • Work with the development team to ensure the design and architecture are realized in the code
  • Guidewire specific design work, troubleshooting, and optimization especially on the integration side
  • Provide the necessary software development leadership to the development team and help ensure that the architectural vision is correctly realized during the development and support the team through the release of code to production
  • Conceptualize, document and communicate higher level system requirements based on business requirements
  • Work directly with business partners to translate business requirements into system requirements
  • Consults with enterprise solution architects and elaborates the enterprise solution architecture into the necessary application architecture
  • Creates application architecture and the high-level design for the chosen solution
ESSENTIAL SKILL AND EXPERIENCE  
  • 10 + years experience Strong Solution Architect/Guidewire Java Architect
  • 8 + years of Guidewire design experience:
    • Guidewire/Gosu
    • Guidewire Version 7
    • Guidewire version 8
    • Guidewire development environment
    • Guidewire design
    • GUnits
 
  • 10 + years of experience designing multi-tier web applications involving intergrations with Vendor packages:
    • J2EE architecture/technologies
    • Web application architecture
    • Web application development (all phases of the lifecycle)
    • Design Patterns
    • OOAD with UML
    • RDBMS (esp. Oracle and DB2)
    • Business client relationship building
    • Spring
    • XML
    • SQL
    • Hibernate
  • Strong leadership, software architecture and communication skills
  • Web Services concepts, standards and technologies
