JOB DESCRIPTION
 
Department Description
The Systems Infrastructure and Test Engineering Group within Motorola Solutions Inc. is responsible for delivering integrated and tested systems for leading edge private mission critical and professional tier telecommunications systems. This includes system requirements analysis, testware design and all software integration and validation activities to achieve ship acceptance for applications, broadband, and land-mobile radio systems and products.

The Systems Infrastructure and Test Engineering team consists of a diverse group of skill-sets; systems test engineers, system architects, program managers, and software engineers. The Systems Infrastructure and Test Group focuses on the performance of the systems and works in close partnership with product/software engineering and the field implementation and support teams in support of the entire product lifecycle.
Job Description
Responsible for specifying, implementing, and executing performance and functional verification tests on communication systems and mobile applications during the integration and validation phases of the product lifecycle. Specific duties will include development of test plans, test procedures, user scenarios, and test cases and the execution of the test cases on system software releases. Perform first-level debugging of issues found and generate test reports and defect reports.

The engineer will be responsible for working with the other teams in cooperation to identify appropriate testing for systems under test, scheduling execution, and reporting results into our existing Test Management Tool environment.
 
The ideal candidate will have a minimum of a bachelor's degree in computer science or electrical engineering with an emphasis on software. Candidate ideally should have conceptual knowledge in system level testing including debugging, ability to characterize and troubleshoot issues found by collecting and analyzing logs. Candidate should have strong independent problem-solving skills and good communication skills both written and verbal. They shall have good team skills, collaborate well with others, ability to multi-task and adapt quickly to change.  In addition, the ideal candidate should possess or obtain skills related to the following preferred qualifications:
 
- Knowledge of installation and commissioning of servers supporting Virtual Machine environments. Experience with Windows Server, VMware ESXi, Redhat Linux

Desirable Skills & Experience
-Coding or Scripting; Javascript, Python a plus.
-SDLC, Box test, system test, system architecture, and Agile experience is desirable
-RF transmission and signaling knowledge would be beneficial
