KEY SKILLS/EXPERIENCE (MUST HAVE)
1.      Experience  with VHF, UHF, 700/800 public radio systems
2.      NG911 infrastructure installation, optimization and maintenance experience
3.      NICE public safety installation, optimization and maintenance experience
4.      3+ years’ experience in one of the following areas: electronics technician, system manager, field service, test technician, network support, It support, or systems technician
5.      Experience with one or more of the following: P25 Systems, NICE public safety loggers, LMR RF systems, wired/wireless communication systems, networking equipment, IT networks
6.      Must be able to successfully pass and maintain the ability to pass background checks
and obtain security clearances as well as have/keep a clean driving record

JOB DESCRIPTION
 
Department Description
The FSO (Field Service Organization) is responsible for supporting the implementation and maintenance of highly technical communications systems at customer locations. Job tasks include but are not limited to: deployment, optimization, and repair of infrastructure ,Nice public safety loggers, subscribers, Microwave, Computers, Servers and Network equipment both internally and externally to Motorola. Department works with System manager, Engineer, Sales team, Project managers, System Technologists and service partners to accomplish the assigned tasks. Department is on call 100% to cover public safety customers.
Job Description
Post-sale installation, optimization, maintenance and management of highly technical communication systems. Focuses on maintaining optimal performance levels across an integrated system while taking a pro-active approach to system level alarms/errors. Performs system hardware and software installation and optimization including advanced troubleshooting skills. Manages system availability through routine system maintenance and performance monitoring.


·         Duties may also include but not limited to
·         VHF, UHF, 700/800 public radio systems
·         NG911 infrastructure installation, optimization and maintenance
·         NICE public safety installation, optimization and maintenance
·         Perform preventative maintenance routines to ensure proper system operation with focus on trend analysis and documentation of results
·         Develop solutions to difficult technical problems encountered as part of system implementation, upgrades or support issues
·         Totally familiar with the latest technologies and troubleshooting techniques in transport, communications and RF systems
·         Team with system manager, engineering, project management, sales personal, system technologists and out partners to effectively design, implement, optimize and cut-over advanced communication systems which meet or exceed customer expectations
·         On-call 75%
·         25-50% travel within NM may be required.
 
Basic Requirements
·         Associates Degree or EET, Technical Certified, Project Management, IT Certified OR Military Technical Certified
·         3+ years’ experience in one of the following areas: electronics technician, system manager, field service, test technician, network support, It support, or systems technician
·         Experience with one or more of the following: P25 Systems, NICE public safety loggers, LMR RF systems, wired/wireless communication systems, networking equipment, IT networks
·         Must be able to successfully pass and maintain the ability to pass background checks
and obtain security clearances as well as have/keep a clean driving record

·         Must have strong knowledge in standard telephony and dedicated data circuits, as well as knowledge of packet switching techniques
·         Must be highly computer literate with proficiency in MS Word, Excel, Outlook, and Access
·         Must have strong self-management skills and "people" skills to work closely with Motorola’s customers and subcontractor partner community, as well as Motorola Sales, Engineering, Project Management, and customer service teams
·         Must be self-motivated and self-managed to perform the required duties at a distance from direct supervision
·         Must be able to solve customer problems quickly during stressful situations‐ Use of equipment commonly used in the optimization and testing of Motorola Two‐Way radio
(Communications Systems Analyzers, watt meters, TIMS sets, CPS, RSS, Antenna Systems
·         Analyzers (FDRs), T1 test sets, etc.)
·         Computer use including common applications such as Microsoft Word and Excel
·         Experience in the configuration and testing of Motorola two‐way radio and subscriber products
·         Good understanding of Motorola trunking, P25 and SmartZone systems
·         Configuration and testing of channel banks, routers, hubs, and switches
·         Must have good interpersonal skills, as this position requires working closely with internal Motorolansand customers
·         CET will be required within 6 months of hiring
·         FCC License and industry certifications are a plus
·         Must have/keep a clean driving record
·         Live within 1 hour of Albuquerque NM
·         Performs troubleshooting at sub‐system level as a subject matter expert. Strives for optimal system performance
·         Able to develop and present technical training. Provides guidance in integrating new
tools solutions into the operations of the team
