KEY SKILLS/EXPERIENCE (MUST HAVE)
1.       Associates Degree or EET, Technical Certified, Project Management, IT Certified OR Military Technical Certified
2.      1+ years experience in one of the following areas: electronics technician, system manager, field service, test technician, network support, It support, or systems technician.
3.      Experience servicing and maintaining fiber optic end equipment, CSU/DSU,
Wireless Land Area Network, voice, data, paging, microwave and land mobile radio systems
4.      Experience with one or more of the following: P25 Systems, , Land Mobile Radio RF systems, wired/wireless communication systems, networking equipment, IT networks, microwave RF systems .
5.      Must be able to successfully pass and maintain the ability to pass background checks and obtain security clearances as well as have/keep a clean driving record with 24X7X365 system rotation coverage
6.      Must have very strong knowledge of wired/wireless communications systems, such as local area networks (LAN) and wide area networks (WAN), must be proficient in computer network installation, configuration and maintenance, systems to include cabling, routers, switches, and bridges.
7.      Must have a strong knowledge of P25 radio and microwave radio systems.
8.      Must have strong knowledge in standard telephony and dedicated data circuits, as well as knowledge of packet switching techniques

Department Description
The Xcel Energy Utility Project Team is responsible for fulfilling the Systems Management requirements as delineated in the multi-year Work Authorization Agreement. The initial agreement involves servicing and maintaining fiberoptic end equipment, CSU/DSU,
Wireless Land Area Network, voice, data, paging, microwave and land mobile radio systems
in the Denver, Co.

However; there is immense potential to extend our services in other States. Motorola Solutions is responsible for the management and performance of all technical and administrative services for the life cycle support and above contract services for Xcel Energy under the Agreement. These services include continuous interface with Xcel Energy Utility Services executive contacts, break/fix repair of all system components, component and subsystem upgrades inventory/asset management, continuous improvement process development, active cost cutting initiatives and growth and opportunity development
 
Job Description
·         Post-sale installation, optimization, maintenance and management of highly technical communication systems. Focuses on maintaining optimal performance levels across an integrated system while taking a pro-active approach to system level alarms/errors
·         Performs system hardware and software installation and optimization including advanced troubleshooting skills. Manages system availability through routine system maintenance and performance monitoring. Duties may also include but not limited to:
1. Perform preventative maintenance routines to ensure proper system operation with focus on trend analysis and documentation of results
2. Develop solutions to difficult technical problems encountered as part of system implementation, upgrades or support issues
3. Totally familiar with the latest technologies and troubleshooting techniques.
4. Team with system manager, engineering, project management, sales personal and out partners to effectively design, implement, optimize and cut-over advanced communication systems which meet or exceed customer expectations.
5. Cover a 24X7X365 on call rotation to provide above
 
Basic Requirements

  • Must have strong self-management skills and "people" skills to work closely with Motorola’s customers and subcontractor partner community, as well as Motorola Sales, Engineering, Project Management, and customer service teams.
  • Must be self-motivated and self-managed to perform the required duties at a distance from direct supervision.
  • Must be able to solve customer problems quickly during stressful situations‐ Use of equipment commonly used in the optimization and testing of Motorola Two‐Way radio (Communications Systems Analyzers, watt meters, TIMS sets, CPS, RSS, Antenna Systems Analyzers (FDRs), T1 test sets, etc.)
  • Computer use including common applications such as Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Experience in the configuration and testing of Motorola two‐way radio and subscriber products.
  • Good understanding of Motorola trunking, P25 and SmartZone systems
  • Configuration and testing of channel banks, routers, hubs, and switches
  • Must have good interpersonal skills, as this position requires working closely with internal Motorolans and customers.
  • CET will be required within 6 months of hiring.
  • FCC License and industry certifications are a plus.
  • Must have/keep a clean driving record.
  • Performs troubleshooting at sub‐system level as a subject matter expert. Strives for optimal system performance. Able to develop and present technical training. Provides guidance in integrating new tools solutions into the operations of the team.
